Accessible Metro Information

To facilitate the use of the metro for passengers with limited mobility, "Baku Metro" CJSC has equipped stations where the installation of elevators is not possible with various equipment, signs, and staff, and also prepared spaces in all trains composed of 81/717-714 type wagons for wheelchairs. People wishing to use the Baku metro with a wheelchair can order assistance from metro staff in advance.

 

General Information

Efforts have been initiated to make the metro, one of Baku city's public transportation services, accessible to everyone. Accordingly, stations where the installation of elevators is not possible are being equipped with various devices, signs, and staff. Spaces are being prepared for wheelchairs in the trains, except for the new generation ones. People with limited mobility wishing to use the Baku metro can order in advance to be accompanied by metro staff for assistance.

Users

The following individuals can place an order for metro staff to accompany them:
•    Those using wheelchairs;
•    Those using crutches or underarm crutches;
•    Those with limited vision;
•    Those with limited hearing;
•    Those with baby strollers;
•    The elderly;
•    Pregnant women with hand luggage.
 

Rules of Use

A passenger using a wheelchair is boarded onto the first wagon of the train;
•    When descending stairs and escalators, at least two metro workers equipped with special devices accompany the passenger using a wheelchair. During this time, one of them stands behind the chair, and the other on the opposite side (in front of the wheelchair), to ensure the passenger's safety.
•    The wheelchair is boarded onto the wagon wheels first.
 

Elevator Usage Guidelines

People with limited physical abilities, especially those using wheelchairs, can enter and exit the "Avtovağzal" and "Memar Ajami" stations on the Purple Line without the help and accompaniment of metro workers. Due to the absence of elevators in other stations, individuals who use wheelchairs, in particular, should enter and exit the stations with the assistance and accompaniment of metro employees.

Contact and Order Procedures

Those wishing to use the assistance of metro workers as mentioned above can place an order at least 1 (one) hour and at most 24 (twenty-four) hours in advance by calling the metro dispatcher at +994 50 268 00 65, sending a message, or using the mobile app listed at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=az.besmobile.metro
Any changes to or cancellation of the order must be communicated at least 20 minutes in advance.
This service is not available during peak passenger flow times from 07:00 to 09:30 in the morning and from 17:30 to 19:30 in the evening.
Orders are executed from 09:00 to 21:00.
