Samir Mammadov

About

Samir Mammadov was born on June 15, 1974, in Baku. From 1993 to 1998, he studied at Khazar University, specializing in International Economic Relations. Between 2004 and 2006, he obtained a master's degree in Business Organization and Management from Azerbaijan State University of Economics. From 2010 to 2016, he studied at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, earning a doctoral degree in ICT in Education. From 1993 to 1998, he worked in various positions at the humanitarian aid organization "Relief International" in the USA. In 1998, he worked as a coordinator for special projects at the oil company "Unocal Khazar Ltd." From 1998 to 1999, he worked as a manager at "Mobil Exploration & Producing Azerbaijan Inc." From 1999 to 2006, he served as the deputy director and then director of the Azerbaijan representative office of the "Relief International" humanitarian aid organization. In 2006, he was appointed as the head of the management group of the "Program for the Provision of Information and Communication Technologies in General Education Schools of the Republic of Azerbaijan" under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. From 2008 to 2017, he worked as the head of the Digitalization of the Education System Department under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. From 2017 to 2019, he worked at Baku Engineering University. In 2019, he worked as a director at "Enginet Invest" LLC. In 2021, he was appointed as the head of the Chief of staff at the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and High Technologies. From 2022, by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 24, 2022, he was appointed as the deputy minister of digital development and transport. He speaks Russian and English. He is married.
