About "Baku Metropolitan" CJSC

Baku Metro, which was put into operation on November 6, 1967 and has been through a long journey of development, now has 25 stations, one power depot, and three lines with a total length of 36.6 kilometers.
The development of the Baku Metro is consistent with the “conceptual development scheme of the Baku Metro lines, and the "Action Plan for the implementation of the State Program on development of Baku Metro in 2011-2015", approved by Presidential Decree No. 1408 of March 18, 2011 "on Additional Measures for the Future Development of Baku Metro". According to the prospective plan, the existing Red Line, which will have a total length of 28,5 km, will start from ‘Badamdar’ settlement and extend to ‘Zig’ settlement.
The line, which will consist of 19 stations, currently has 13 stations and one power depot in operation. The project envisages the construction of four stations after "Icheri Sheher" and two stations after "Hazi Aslanov".
The Green Line, which will have a total length of 41.8 km, will cover Khatai, Nasimi, Yasamal, Binagadi, Nariman Narimanov, Nizami, Sabunchu and Surakhani districts. In accordance with the prospective development plan, a circle line will be organized in this line for the first time in the Baku metro in the future. The line, which will have 23 stations, currently has 10 stations in operation. One power depot for the line is under construction, and another one is at the design stage. According to the prospective development plan, the existing Red and Green lines will be separated after the completion of the design and reconstruction of 28 May station, and the trains will move freely in each line.
The Purple Line, which will have a total length of 18,5 km, will start from ‘Khojasan’ settlement and extend to ‘Garachukhur’ settlement. "Avtovagzal" and "Memar Ajami" stations of the Purple Line, which is the first priority of the prospective plan of Metro, were put into use for passengers on April 19, 2016. A total of 10 news stations, including six passageways are to be built along this line. At present, the construction of the Purple Line depot in ‘Khojasan’ settlement and the third station in Jeyhun Salimov Street is underway.
The Blue Line, which will have a total length of 16,3 km, will start from the residential area of ‘Yeni Yasamal’ and extend to ‘Bakikhanov’ settlement of ‘Sabunchu’ district. A total of 11 stations, including 7 passageways and one power depot will be built in this line.
The Yellow Line, which will have a total length of 14,7 km, will start from ‘Binagady’ district and extend to ‘Bayil’ settlement of ‘Sabail’ district. A total of 11 stations, including 5 passageways and 1 power depot will be built in this line.
In accordance with the prospective development plan, along with the construction of tunnels, stations, and depots of the new lines, the existing stations are being reconstructed and equipped with modern facilities in phases, and the second exits of deep-level stations are being built. The “State Program on development of Baku Metro in 2011-2015” also envisages the construction of the second entrances and exits of the deep-level stations. The second entrances and exits of "May 28" and "Academy of Sciences" stations were commissioned on December 30, 2009, and December 28, 2015, respectively. As per the program, the stations of "Icheri Sheher", "Koroglu", "May 28",  "Sahil", "Bakmil" and "Khatai" were overhauled on December 29, 2008, December 30, 2011,  May 5, 2015, June 7, 2018, March 26, 2019, and September 12, 2019, respectively, and put into use for passengers with new looks.
According to the "conceptual development scheme of the Baku Metro lines", the total underground network in the future will consist of five lines, including the three existing (Red, Green and Purple) and two additional lines (Blue and Yellow), with a total of 76 stations, six power plants, and a 119.1 km-long line. 51 new stations with a total length of 84,3 km-long underground line is to be constructed in the Baku Metro.
